The MA in CPPM is a 2-year full-time postgraduate course, but it does not isolate you from your existing creative practice. In order to accommodate this, the study is organised in a modular manner into four terms.
29 July - 29 September 2019 (9 weeks)
25 November 2019 - 1 February 2020 (10 weeks)
16 March - 6 July 2020 (16 weeks)
3 August - 27 September 2020 (8 weeks)
23 November - 31 January 2021 (10 weeks)
1 March - 7 June 2021 (13 weeks)
During these periods you are expected to be in Estonia and fully dedicate your time to your studies and training.
School weeks run from Monday to Saturday, with days usually starting at 9:00 with lectures and skills development classes, followed by work with the resident Guest Artist, and continuing on with seminars, tutorials and rehearsals until 21:00. You can see a sample weekly timetable here.
In term time, you will be introduced to a wide variety of working methods. These take time to settle in and the breaks present an opportunity to do additional research and try things out in the context of your own creative practice. During off-periods, you can either stay in Estonia with provision for rehearsal space to collaborate with your peers or you can return to your own company. During these off-periods, however, your studies continue with weekly online tutorials and seminars, self-led studio-based research, various assignments and preparation for next term.
Some study periods might take place outside Estonia and further information will be given to all students well in advance of beginning study.
Please note that these dates are subject to change due to additional touring and performing schedules. All final dates will be confirmed at the beginning of each academic year.
